Mentoring Programs

Who We Are:

The Star Hill male and female mentoring programs are designed to enrich the lives of young girls and boys in the Baton Rouge community through the interpersonal connection of mentorship. Our purpose is to shape our youth into followers of Christ and leaders of their communities.  The goal is to teach young girls and boys what it means to be young women and men: spiritually, culturally, and physically.  These three dimensions of self are explored thoroughly to infuse the youth with a strong self-image and positive self-esteem by knowing who they are in Christ.  Our mission is to instruct, nurture, and support the youth in their transition through adolescence to young adulthood.

The program consists of four mentoring groups: Star Vision (girls ages 9-13), King’s Daughter’s (girls ages 14-18), Young Lions (boys ages 9-13), and Lions of Judah (boys ages 14-18)   Sisters in the Spirit (a team of virtuous women dedicated to depositing love and Christian values into the lives of youth) serve as mentors to the young females.  Bold Brothers (a team of men with a heart after Christ and dedicated to depositing examples of how to be a Man of God into the lives of young men) serve as mentors to the young men.
